Yesterday was the Catholic Church’s 42nd annual World Communications Day. The Bishops of Australia marked the day by releasing a Pastoral Letter on Internet Safety. The bishops seek to situate this social concern into a Catholic context, encouraging people to act in a way which upholds the dignity of the human person.
You may wish to take some time to read the Pastoral Letter.
The Bishops have also used the occasion to produce an introduction to the letter as a video posted on YouTube. It is presented by Bishop Peter Ingham of Wollongong, who took the opportunity to add to the message one of his trademark light-hearted stories (take a look and you’ll no doubt see what I mean).
